Vintage Japanese Oil Painting - Textured Rural Landscape

An expressive Japanese oil painting depicting a rural landscape of cultivated fields and rolling green foothills. The composition uses vivid chartreuse and olive greens, deep forest tones and a muted sky, with heavily textured brushwork creating pronounced relief across the field boundaries and vegetation.

The work is associated with the Japanese Yōga tradition of Western-style painting. The reverse bears Japanese calligraphy, reportedly reading 「風景」 (Fūkei, “Landscape”), alongside the name 中谷忠弘 (Takahiro Nakatani). A faint “APPEARANCE” stamp is also visible on the backing. The painting is presented on a canvas-covered board.
