Furniture & Objects

Everything we sell is old, and each piece has lived a life before arriving with us.

Signs of use, wear, repairs, changes in colour and small imperfections are part of this. They are not always possible to avoid, and we do not try to make old things appear new.

We take care in choosing what we sell and describe each piece as honestly as we can. Please look closely at the photographs and read the description before purchasing. If you would like to know more about an item, or see something in greater detail, please get in touch.

For larger or more delicate pieces, we are happy to discuss delivery before purchase.

Delivery

We are currently refining our delivery arrangements, and the method used will depend on the size, weight and value of the piece.

Items valued at £150 or more will usually be sent by courier. Larger pieces will also be delivered by courier rather than standard post.

Smaller items will be sent by post or courier as appropriate. As a guide, anything larger than a Royal Mail medium parcel will require a different delivery method. We will confirm this before dispatch where necessary.

We aim to dispatch smaller items within 5-7 working days.

Courier deliveries may take a little longer, particularly for larger or more delicate pieces.

Delivery is currently available to the UK mainland. If you are in the Scottish Highlands, islands, Northern Ireland or another area outside standard mainland delivery, please contact us before purchasing so that we can confirm the cost and arrangements.

If you have a particular delivery day in mind, please let us know when ordering and we will do our best to accommodate it.

Larger & Independent Courier Delivery

For larger furniture and other substantial pieces, we use independent couriers.

Delivery times vary according to the piece and destination, and are generally within 1–3 weeks. The courier will contact you directly before delivery to arrange a suitable time.

Some deliveries are made by a one-person service, so assistance may be needed when receiving larger or heavier pieces. Please let us know in advance if access is difficult or if there are stairs, narrow doorways or other considerations we should be aware of.

Where appropriate, fragile pieces will be carefully wrapped or boxed for transport.

Courier arrangements and costs will be confirmed with you before delivery. In some cases, payment for delivery is made directly to the courier.

If you are unsure whether a piece can be delivered to you, please get in touch before purchasing. We are always happy to discuss it.

Returns

We accept returns within 14 days of delivery, provided the item is returned in the same condition in which it was received.

Please contact us before returning anything. This will exclude delivery, and return shipping which must be arranged and paid for by customer.

International customers are kindly asked to mark return parcels as "RETURNED ITEM", to avoid unnecessary custom fees, which are the customers responsibility to pay.

Because our pieces are old and often one of a kind, please take care when handling and packaging anything being returned. Items that have been damaged or altered after delivery may not be eligible for a refund.

We hope the photographs and descriptions give a clear sense of each piece before you buy. If there is anything you would like to know, please ask us; we would much rather answer a question beforehand than have a piece make an unnecessary journey.
