Rustic Vintage Japanese Stool
A vintage Japanese wooden stool in a great rustic condition, dating to the late Taisho era (1912-1926) or early Showa period (1926-). The beautifully weathered seat and frame showcase a highly tactile, scrubbed-out grain pattern that captures the essence of everyday historical utility. The seat top and four side panels are all engraved with some sort of business logo; therefore, this little stool is believed to have been originally used in a restaurant or tea house.
Hand-assembled in nice old cedar. The timber retains a deep patina, with pronounced grain, natural variation, and the marks of prolonged handling and use.

Condition & Antique Character
As an antique object, this piece has lived a previous life and shows the gentle marks of time and utility. The wood has natural variations in colour and grain, together with surface marks, scuffs, splits and areas of wear. Although it is in good sturdy condition overall, the stool is slightly unbalanced by few mm so it wobbles slightly on a hard floor, THEREFORE PRCIED ACCORDINGLY. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
