Vintage Japanese Bamboo Flower Basket (Hanakago)

A Japanese bamboo flower basket, traditionally known as a hanakago, featuring a low, rounded body and an expressive, irregular weave of overlapping bamboo strips with a strong red-brown finish. The basket has a sturdy overhead handle with tightly wrapped detailing at the rim.

Its asymmetrical form and warm, red-brown surface give it a rustic character associated with Japanese folk craft.
