Japanese Oil Painting of Mount Iwate - Signed and Dated 1996

An original Japanese landscape oil painting depicting Mount Iwate (岩手山), with the mountain framed by trees in the foreground. Warm pink and peach tones illuminate the summit, contrasting with cooler blue and violet shades across the slopes. Textured brushwork gives depth to the mountain, trees and surrounding landscape.

The painting is dated October 1996, with the subject name, Mount Iwate, handwritten on the reverse. The back also bears a Sekaido art-supply label and a material label marked 「麻 100%」, indicating 100% linen. These details provide useful reference points for documenting the painting’s date and construction. The work reflects the Western-style oil painting tradition known as Yōga in Japan.
