Materials
Made from dense, iron-rich stoneware clay and fired at high temperature without an applied glaze. The body is predominantly charcoal-black and deep grey, with quieter purplish-brown and bronze tones beneath the darker firing effects. The surface has a relatively even, satin-like finish. The base bears a clear impressed maker's mark and retains concentric throwing marks from the making process.

Condition & Antique Character
As a vintage Japanese ceramic, this piece has lived a previous life and will show signs of age and use. Small marks, surface wear, firing variations and other irregularities are to be expected. These are part of the character of an old ceramic rather than defects. Please examine the photographs carefully, as they form part of the description.
