Hand Painted Japanese Chrysanthemum Hanging Scroll with Garden Rock (Kakemono)
A Japanese hand-painted hanging scroll (kakemono) depicting chrysanthemums beside a garden rock, rendered in an expressive ink-painting style. The composition combines delicate flower heads and foliage with the textured form of the rock, creating a quiet study of autumn plants and natural forms.
The painting bears a calligraphic inscription and artist’s signature, read as Shōka Sanjin (纕華散人), accompanied by two red seals. A further column of calligraphy appears beside the painting. The scroll is mounted with an earthy, coarsely woven linen border, accented by a green and pink floral-patterned band with metallic-gold details.

Condition & Antique Character

Please refer to the photographs for the condition of the painted surface, calligraphy, seals and textile mounting. The linen on which the piece is mounted has obvious signs of wear, fading, and fraying. The bottom right roller end is snapped.
